2006/06/10 - Aiguille du Toule, North face

photo01 (linetoule.JPG Kb)

With help from the Helbronner Panorama cablecar from the top of Aiguille du Midi me and Max had a very easy acces to the Aiguille de Toule. We started at 1030 and we where back in Chamonix at 1700. This little north face is really steep in the middle section(about 55 degrees) but very short so we didn't make many turns on our way down. Anyway the snow conditions on the decent was hard so it maked the turns quite difficult.

Max at the top of the Toule after just climbing 180 vertical meters from the Helbronner station. Of some reason we still went really exhausted, probably because of the hot sunny weather. Aiguille de Toule is 3534 meters hight and it gived us a decent of about 250(!) vertical meters. In the background you can see the Dent du Géant.

It's a nice view up here! Behind the freerider you can see the east face of the Tour Ronde and Mont-Blanc. On your right is the east face of Mont Maudit.

The Mont Blanc du Tacul and the Grand Capucin below on the left.

On the way back in the Panorama cablecar we had a good opportunity too check out nice lines on the Tacul. On this picture you can see the Diable and the Isoleé Couloir, the Chèré Couloir and the east face of the Col du Diable and Aiguillettes du Tacul.

The great Gervasutti Couloir and its smaller neighbour to the right, the Jager Couloir. And to the left, the crazy Macho Couloir.

The north-east face of the Triangle du Tacul and the Contamine-Négri route.

Before arriving the Aiguille du Midi station I took a last photoshot on the Cosmiques ridge.
