2006/05/24 - Aiguillettes du Tacul, East Couloir photo01 (lineaiguillettes.JPG Kb)
We hasitated a little bit before hiking up here. It was two groups of skiers before us and small chances to have untracked skiing. Usually it doesn't matter for me, but for Max is that quite important...The alternative was instead to ski the Aiguillettes couloir, but it didn't look that good because it was not so much snow in it. I think we did the right thing choosing this decent. Anyway, I felt pretty satisfied after doing it. photo02 (framsida.jpg Kb)
Here is the face seeing from the Brèche du Carabinier. It is about 50 degrees the hole way from the top to the bottom but it's not very long so I didn't felt it very demanding. The snow was also very soft so I think that helps a lot aswell. photo03 (IMG_0193.jpg Kb)
On this east face there is several steep decents. From left you have the Aiguillettes and the Col du diable, the Chère Couloir, the Isolée and the Diable Couloir. photo04 (IMG_0206.jpg Kb)
Traversing the first part just after we left the Brèche du Carabinier. photo05 (IMG_0207.jpg Kb)
We had nice weather the entire day. This is Max, behind him you can see Flo. photo06 (IMG_0208.jpg Kb)
It's about 600 vertical meters up if you count from the Vallé Blanche and it took us two and a half hour. photo07 (IMG_0210.jpg Kb)
Is just steep for about 300 vertical meters. photo08 (IMG_0211.jpg Kb)
It was one Italien group and one French group of skiers who joined us. I think this guy is French. photo09 (IMG_0212.jpg Kb)
The Decent starts at 3912 meters. We had 1685 vertical meters skiing down to the Montenvers train. photo10 (IMG_0214.jpg Kb)
The east face of Mont Maudit. photo11 (IMG_0216.jpg Kb)
The Italien side of Mont-Blanc look really impressive. photo12 (IMG_0217.jpg Kb)
I think you can call this exteme skiing. Aiguille Blanche de Peuterey and Grand Pilier d'Angle.
