2008/04/20 – Col des Courtes, North/East Couloir photo01 (colc.JPG Kb)
Beautiful ski descent! The couloir is between 50°-55° degrees. Deep powder… photo02 (IMG_2836.JPG Kb)
Photo taken on my way to the couloir. It was very nice weather early in the morning, bad weather was expected in the afternoon. I was a little bit stressed. I knewed that I had to move quick, climb and descend the couloir before the bad weather arrived… photo03 (IMG_2844.JPG Kb)
When accessing this route from GM the best is to make a hight traverse above the rognon. You spare about 60min with skins. Is not always in condition, the traverse is highly crevassed. From GM to the bergschrund of Col des Courtes it’s 500 vertical meters. It took me 1hour40min. photo04 (IMG_2845.JPG Kb)
As you can see it starts to get overcast… From the bergschrund it’s about 450meters climbing. It took me 1hour and 43min to climb. The climb up was pretty tiring, it was to much snow!!! photo05 (IMG_2848.JPG Kb)
Photo taking at the col direction Aiguille Verte… photo06 (IMG_2852.JPG Kb)
The Col de l’Amône couloir looked pretty skiable. Lots of snow and no bergschrund. Don’t now anything about the top section as it’s hard to see it from this point. photo07 (IMG_2853.JPG Kb)
You can’t get very interesting photos when you are alone… But some photos are hopefully useful if you some time wants to go here..?
